The increasing demand for sustainable and cost-effective road construction materials has led to the exploration of industrial byproducts as viable alternatives to conventional aggregates and binders. One such material gaining attention is Dolo-char, a byproduct of sponge iron production. Traditionally considered waste, Dolo-char has the potential to be repurposed in road construction, offering economic and environmental benefits. Roads experience significant wear and tear due to traffic loads, weather conditions, and material degradation, necessitating durable and resilient materials. The incorporation of Dolo-char into road construction materials presents an innovative solution, reducing dependence on natural resources while addressing waste management challenges.
Dolo-char primarily consists of carbon, iron oxides, and residual lime, which can enhance the performance of asphalt and concrete mixtures.
