Sustainable demolition offers a crucial shift from traditional "wrecking ball" methods, addressing the sig-nificant environmental and economic impacts of construction and demolition (C&D) waste.
This research investigates the principles, techniques, benefits, and challenges associated with sustainable demo-lition practices, encompassing deconstruction, material re-use and recycling, and waste minimization strategies. Tra-ditional demolition contributes substantially to landfill bur-den, resource depletion, and environmental pollution, ne-cessitating a more circular approach. Sustainable demoli-tion aims to minimize waste generation, maximize the re-covery and reuse of building materials, and reduce the over-all environmental footprint of building removal.
