Construction safety is a critical concern due to the inherent risks and hazards associated with construction sites. Advancements in technology have significantly enhanced the ability to prevent accidents, improve safety protocols, and ensure worker protection. This paper explores the various emerging technologies used in construction safety, including wearable devices, drones, Building Information Modelling (BIM), augmented reality (AR), and machine learning. Wearable devices such as smart helmets and vests equipped with sensors can monitor worker health and detect hazardous environmental conditions in real time. Drones are increasingly used for site inspections, enabling remote monitoring and hazard identification without putting workers in dangerous situations. BIM integrates safety planning into the design process, while AR and machine learning provide innovative solutions for real-time hazard recognition, training, and predictive safety analytics. The integration of these technologies fosters a proactive safety culture, reducing accidents and improving overall site efficiency. This paper discusses the potential, challenges, and future directions of these technologies, emphasizing their role in transforming construction safety management.
